Mooresville, N.C. – Danny O’Quinn Jr. is headed back to his home state Friday for some tough NASCAR Nationwide Series action, and he’s bringing along some friends old and new.
O’Quinn, the series’ 2006 Raybestos Rookie of the Year, will drive Mac Hill Motorsports’ No. 56 Chevy Monte Carlo SS in the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond International Raceway.
Barr-Nunn Transportation Inc., which has had a relationship with O’Quinn for the past three years, will be the primary sponsor of the 56 car, and Mac Hill is proud to announce that two family-owned, Fredericksburg, Va., area businesses will be associate sponsors for this race.
Those are Crozier Environmental and Professional Image Advertising. Based in Locust Grove, Va., Crozier Environmental is operated by the Crozier family. The company is a full-service heating and air-conditioning contractor that also handles mold remediation and chimney- and duct-cleaning. Professional Image Advertising is one of a handful of businesses run by the Angstadt family. It is a marketing company that produces signs and banners and that prints the logos of businesses and organizations on clothing and promotional products.
“I’m excited to have Barr-Nunn back on the car this week with Mac Hill Motorsports,” said O’Quinn, who grew up in Coeburn, Va. “And it makes things even better that Crozier Environmental and Professional Image Advertising are helping us out, too.”
The Emerson Radio 250 will be the first race O’Quinn has run this year for Mac Hill. He drove a limited schedule for the team last year, and his best finish in three career starts at Richmond is 14th.
“I just hope to put on a good show for the team, our sponsors and, of course, our fans,” O’Quinn said, adding that he was able to meet several Barr-Nunn executives and drivers at a recent open house at Mac Hill’s race shop.
He said RIR is unique because the ¾-mile oval blends the best of the beating-and-banging of a short track with the high speeds of a larger circuit.
“It’s always a place as a driver that you like to go to and run,” he said.
The Emerson Radio 250 will be broadcast on ESPN2. Coverage begins at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
